1 DAY GORILLA TREKKING IN RWANDA

When on a business tour and or conference, you can opt for a single day gorilla trek in Rwanda and then after fly out of the country. It is a lifetime encounter that you wouldn’t want to miss out on the moment you get an opportunity to visit Rwanda. Wake up early in the morning at 4:30 am and drive off to the park. It’s a 2 hour long drive to get to the Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, Musanze province which is a habitat to the endangered Mountain gorillas. You can take visually attractive pictures from the different stopovers along the journey and also get to have a cup of coffee. At exactly 7.30 am, we move to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village where you are briefed by the ranger about the rules and regulations governing Gorilla tracking. You are distributed into different groups and then sent off into the forest. The trek takes an hour to about 8 more depending on where the gorillas had been the previous day. The hike is quite strenuous but all the more rewarding once you set your eyes on the gentle mountain gorillas. They always move in a big number with the Silverback at the lead. You will watch them carry about their day to day routine like the juveniles playing, mothers feeding their young ones and the Silverbacks taking watch.

Gorilla tracking starts at 8.00 am and so you must assemble at the park’s headquarters in time for briefing. Our guide may talk to the rangers and you are given a close group that takes about 45 minutes, however the experience is awesome. In case you are given a group that takes about 4-8 hours for example Susa group, you may have to push your flight to a latter time to enable you enjoy the experience without any worries. Remember a gorilla permit in Rwanda costs US$ 1500; you may look at it as too expensive but it is all the more breathtaking once you come cross these great mountain gorillas. Catch a lifetime experience within a day in Rwanda.
